Today’s Christmas goody is a download for your kiddos! Have these ready for the kids who come over for Christmas Day or to keep your kids entertained with a non-TV activity while you are busy getting ready for Christmas 🙂 Children’s activity page
On Christmas Day, if you have a group of kids over you can also take a baby Jesus from the Nativity and play a little find-and-seek. Have the kids cover their eyes and count to ten while you hide baby Jesus. Then have them look for Him. You can do this a few times over. Then talk to them about how Jesus doesn’t hide Himself from us, but we need to look hard for Him because the world and all the other things in life can hide Him from us.
God promises that “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:13.
You can also use the following questions for some family discussion:
1. The Wise Men looked for Jesus like a precious treasure. Read the following verses together:
Matthew 6:20-21
Matthew 13:44
Jeremiah 29:13
2. How is the Lord calling you each as individuals and as a family to seek after Him more passionately?
3. The Wise Men sacrificed so much to search for Jesus. They left friends, family and home to look for God’s Son. How is the Lord calling you and your family to sacrifice to search for Him and His ways?
4. The Wise Men also gave precious treasure to worship Jesus. God has given us the precious place of being His children and having the blessing of talking to Him whenever we like. But sometimes we forget how precious it is that we have that access to Him. And we forget that while relationship with Him is free, it isn’t cheap. What precious treasure can you offer to the Lord this Christmas and this coming year? (Your whole heart is a great treasure to the Lord).
