I can’t say I’m done yet with this last week’s Summer Refreshment theme of stillness. A week is hardly sufficient to skim the surface of a spiritual habit so foreign to our culture. But I have enjoyed it, wrestled with it and sought it. I sat for an extended time when I normally would have done chores and watched the full moon rise over the horizon, thanking God for His wondrous creation and for all His goodness in my life. I went on a long hike in the mountains, praising and praying as I trudged along until my soul found it’s quiet place where no more words are needed.
I regularly start the day with Bible reading and prayer, so I’ve long had that habit of a quiet corner in my day. But it is too easy for me to leave that quiet spirit behind and “get on” with the busyness of the day.
What did you do to seek stillness of soul this week? Share it on the facebook page or on the pinterest group board (if you want an invite just leave a comment on the first post). Wherever your week took you this week, I hope you found a quiet place to come before the Lord and sit in His presence.
